Two day long WAMP on Design Week!
Everything is about the design this week! All the little shops, all the galleries and the cool places are full of with the latest design innovations. We can get a sneak-peak into the creative world of the colourful buildings and walls of Budapest, ceramics, glasses and metal pieces blink in the windows of galleries. WAMP, the Hungarian design market is also the part of this design swirl. We really wanted to grab the opportunity, so we’ve decided to organize a two day long design fair! Both on Saturday and Sunday the WAMP will wait for you in the B hall, offering you the biggest variety of tricky bags, recycled jewelleries and flirty clothes.
KIBU and WAMP at the TENT London!
Kitchen Budapest (KIBU) and WAMP launched an open call for young Hungarian designers to participate in a workshop and develop new projects with tutors Anab Jain and Jon Arden designers and co-directors at Superflux. The workshop challenged the current role of designers to contribute to the competitiveness of objects and services and encouraged them to design new solutions that can be potentially create the basis of new economies. In the course of the workshop four projects were developed and one has been chosen to be shown at Tent London Design Festival. The winning idea came from Beata Csortan and Daniel Pifko.
Design harvest at Millenáris!
Autumn is here again, and as the leaves are getting yellow and orange and red, as all the caffes and restaurants are taking their chairs and tables inside from the terrace, and as in all shopping windows the fresh autumn-winter collections are calling out for us, the WAMP is preparing for the autumn season as well.
Tune up for WAMP!
In four days you will have plenty of time to walk around at Sziget, to jump around on many concerts, to sing until your voice gets hoarse, to learn by heart all the designer objects at the WAMP houses and take at least two photo shoots at the WAMP-Lollini planking photo station! ;) All in all, there would be no reason for you to miss our huge design fair on the 14th at Erzsébet tér!
WAMP is 5 years old!
This fair will be different than the previous ones, since IT IS OUR BIRTHDAY! We are a year older, maybe wiser too, but we had 5 fantastic years behind us, that is for sure!
Hello Tourist!
What pops into your mind, if we say: June? A huge glass of limonde? Or spitzers, tons of ice creams? Lying on the beach, or eating a huge bowl of cherry? There is no right or wrong answer, all of the above listed things can be the part of the first month of summer! Though, we have one more very significant momentum in our minds, namely the WAMP design fair at Erzsébet tér!
designer of the month
Designer of the month in June: Fehér Beatrix - Camou
You can feel the urban atmosphere as soon as you take a good look at Beatrix’s collection. Pictures of big cities, monuments appear on her extravagant clothes. She has thousands and thousands of photos that she has taken herself on her trips all around the world. She was there at the very first WAMP, the Museum of Applied Arts has bought five pieces for its own collection, her youngest customer is 5 years old, her oldest one is 80.

WAMP Redesign!
Spring is here, so WAMP is moving back to Erzsébet tér! This Sunday we will wait for everyone next to Gödör, who is looking for a nice. long design-walk! Eco-section at WAMP! Recycle your bike! In April we dedicate a whole separate section to everything that is connected to redesign: you will find belts and necklaces made out of recycled bike tires, porcelain jewellery made out of old cups and plates – objects that are the results of a creative re-thinking of the old!
