WAMP celebrates 6th birthday!
6 years, 76 design fairs, 600.000 visitors, 3 design festivals, 9 international and 4 professional awards are the main results of six years of WAMP’s history. Come to the birthday fair this Sunday and celebrate with us! To make the atmosphere most festive please wear something you had purchased earlier on WAMP. Both old and new visitors are welcome, come and spend the day with us and stroll along the designer passage.
Colour reinvented – selection of works of contemporary Hungarian designers
"Colour reinvented" is the title of the exhibition showcasing 18 emerging Hungarian designers in Helsinki curated by WAMP under the auspices of the Hungarian Institute in Helsinki. The most progressive and innovative Hungarian design objects will be showcased on the show from 15th June 2012 to 16th September 2012, many of which have won prestigious design awards. The design objects of the 18 selected designers vary from furniture, porcelain, jewellery to fashion design and are linked together by three selected colours: red, black and white.
WAMP pop-up store at MOM Park
Between 18-26 May, a temporary “boutique” showing the products of some twenty Hungarian designers awaits the general public. In the framework of the joint project of MOM Park and WAMP, visitors can find clothing, jewellery, accessories, bags and shoes of premium quality and unique design for just over a week.
WAMP back to summer venue
WAMP is back to its summer venue after this long winter, so its worth having a stroll on the Erzsebet corso on 13th May this Sunday to see the the novelties of Hungarian designers of the spring/summer season. Pick your favorite design object from your desired chiseled jewellery, customised handbag, cool dress or other designer gadget that you have been longing for some time then chill out in the fine food corner of WAMP and try those famous hand made marmalades, lemonades and home made cheeses.

Here’s design for your taste buds: the gastro edition of well-known design fair WAMP is round the corner again. Here it’s not only about the uniqueness and the high quality of the yummy products, but their image and packaging plays a huge role as well.

This year, we start the Christmas season with our very first and very own gastro fair! Right before you pack your shopping bags full with presents, fill up your larder with design dainties! At our gastro design fair the exhibitors not only put emphasize on the uniqueness and high quality of their products, but also find it very important to catch the visitors’ attention with the image and packaging of those. The shelves of the different gastro sections will be designed by stylists.
At this year’s Łódź Remade Market, the organizers have started cooperation with WAMP – the Hungarian equivalent of their event, which takes place in Budapest every month. 9 designers from Hungary attended the fair at Łódź to present Hungarian fashion and design: Juhász Ádám, Fatér Mária – Mlamp, Kasza Emese – Meikawa, Muskotál Dénes – 1mind1, Katona Barbara, Erdei Ildikó Virág, Tilka, The Béta Version, Ducsai Judit
WAMP @ Operae, Torino
The foreign protagonist of 2011 edition Operae was WAMP from Hungary. A unique opportunity to give a close look at the lively and emergent Eastern Europe scene, that in these last years has asserted itself on the international panorama. WAMP presented Hungary in Torino, with a selection of designers and products that offered us the right tools to understand the characters of a young Design, still partially unknown.
Dutch Design Days
One of the world’s design powers, The Netherlands introduced itself with the help of WAMP, in the beginning of November. The opening event took place at A38 ship with a huge party with the Dutch singer, Sharidovna. On the 4th, 5th and 6th of November, also on A38 ship, Marije Vogelzang, the world-famous Dutch food-designer performed a very unique show for the first time!
