As the official program of Design Week Budapest 2016 WAMP will host designers from the Visegrad countries at the 2nd October fair. Apart from the popular WAMP exhibitors Czech, Slovak and Polish designers will present their work for the Hungarian audience.

WAMP celebrates its 10th birthday this year. In the past 10 years we have been working hard to provide an opportunity for young creative designers to present themselves at our fairs on the one hand, and make quality design accessible to everyday people on the other hand. With many years of experience behind us we can say that we have become a determinant part and even one of the opinion leaders of the design life of Hungary.

In March 2015, we have already organized a design fair with the participation of designers from the V4 region in the frame of a successful IVF supported project, so this one would be a worthy continuation of last year's event. We see that both the designers and the public have a demand for a continuation. The goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for foreign designers to get introduced to the Hungarian public and try themselves in a new market. Such an opening to new countries is absolutely useful, as a new class of consumers can get to learn their works whom they cannot meet in their home countries; they can get a personal, live, instant feedback from a community that can provide a good foundation for managing their activities, or even for product development. A further important goal of the event is to provide an occasion for designers of the V4 countries to meet each other. Thereby they can assess the activities of similar designers of other countries, they can build relations and take part in each other's future projects and events. 

We believe that cooperation is the only right direction of development in Central Europe, and within that, the Visegrád Region, in 2016. The creative communities of all countries can only benefit of getting to know the creative activities and offerings of the other countries, thereby inspiring themselves and helping possible future joint works, cultural cooperation, artistic projects.
